Specialist Carer Training

We’re Serving a Desperate Need

Due to the unregulated Carer industry, nurse shortages,  increased medical costs, poor government health facilities and early discharge from hospital, there is a growing need for quality, Specialist Home-based Care.

Currently in South Africa, the carer industry is completely unregulated. Often the initial and basic training courses offered to carers are of a poor quality and there are no benchmarks or minimum standards.

Many “care agencies” are established but they’re operated by people who are not qualified medical professionals, with no medical knowledge or experience.

Carers are often neglected, of poor quality, un-supported, un-accountable and ill-prepared for the circumstances the work involves. Because of the shortage of qualified and experienced nurses in South Africa; Carers often find themselves filling in the gaps and undertaking tasks, usually assigned to registered nurses. As a result, Carers themselves are often insecure about the service they deliver. People think of caring as a menial job that anyone can do. We disagree!

What We Do

We provide Specialist training for carers who are caring for specific patient categories:

Cerebral Palsy Children, Head Injuries, Palliative Care & Ventilator Patients
